Unit 02 Developing web pages
Knowledge for Unit 02
Much of the Knowledge for this Unit can be found in the HTML code of your web pages.
Make sure you have print-outs of both the web pages themselves and the html code for them included in your Portfolio.
Underline the code for your images, links, fonts, colours etc.
The sketch for a design of a site covers 'the ability to represent the design........' part of knowledge.
Hierarchical addressing and data classification can become quite complex. If you find it hard to find a simple explanation ask your Tutor for help.
Many students question the use of writing html from scratch and not taking the easy option of using editing software to write it. This doubt is quite valid, if you go on to make web sites you will certainly want to use an editor, but learning a little of the code is extremely useful and rewarding. I have yet to meet a student who has not been thrilled by seeing a few lines of text suddenly turn into a page full of colour, images and animation. Even if you find it daunting at first if you stick with Developing Web Pages you will find the most rewarding as well as the most creative part of the course.
